Training Modules
 
Training modules can be selected, combined, and modified as appropriate to the individual. The following module descriptions provide a basic framework for the training. Ongoing training may also be warranted due to specifics, need to refresh skills, and change in situation/need.
 
Module 1A: Fundamentals of Dragon NaturallySpeaking Speech Recognition - Dictation and Command & Control
(*6-8 hours of training time)
 
This module is designed for complete hands free operation for anyone who has difficulty or cannot operate a keyboard and mouse. Examples would include: quadriplegia, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, brain injury, amputation, and any other disabling conditions that effect hand function.

Module 1B: Fundamentals of Dragon NaturallySpeaking Speech Recognition - Dictation Only
(* 4-6 hours training time)
 
This module is designed for anyone who has difficulty producing ongoing and continuous text with the keyboard, but can perform command and control functions with a mouse. Examples would include: disabilities that compromise but do not totally eliminate hand function and cognitive conditions that make it difficult to create text via the keyboard interface.

Module 2: Fundamentals of Writing Custom Commands (Professional Edition only) (*1-3 hours of training time)
 
1.      Introduction to writing custom commands/macros in Dragon Naturally Speaking – Professional Edition
2.      Custom commands can combine multiple step operations into single voice commands to increase efficiency and ease of operation.
3.      Specific commands tailored to individual computing needs for managing repetitive tasks
4.      Other misc per user needs
 
Module 3: Browsing with Internet Explorer (*1-2 hours of training time)
Navigating the internet hands free and with voice commands only.
     
1.      Moving within and between web pages
2.      Controlling website addresses, history, favorites, and feeds
3.      Voicing Hyperlinks
4.      Manipulating Links, Images, Buttons, And Radio Buttons
5.      Perform Web Search Shortcuts
6.      Operate menus
7.      Other misc. per user needs
Module 4: Microsoft Word (*2 or more hours of training time)
 
1.      Natural Language Commands
2.      Custom Formatting and Editing Commands
3.      Create tables, headers, etc.
4.      Insert pictures and graphics
5.      Insert hyperlinks
6.      Other misc. per user needs
 
Module 5: Microsoft Excel (*2 or more hours of training time)
 
1.      Moving within Spreadsheet and between Sheets
2.      Selecting Cells, Rows, and Columns
3.      Enter Formulas and Calculations
4.      Custom Formatting Worksheets
5.      Natural Language Commands
6.      Create charts
7.      Other misc. per user needs
 
Module 6: Microsoft Outlook (*2-4 hours of training time)
 
1.      Navigate in Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks windows
2.      Compose and Send E-Mail
3.      Schedule and Maintain Calendar Appointments
4.      Generate and Customize Contact Lists
5.      Create and Modify Tasks
6.      Other misc per user needs
 
Module 7: Custom Plan that may include components of some or all of the modules above per user needs and special request (*training time to be determined at the time plan is defined).
 

*Training times estimated above are variable based on the students learning capacity, adaptability and needs.
