Adult Day Centers
Northshore
Senior Center operates two Adult Day Centers in Bothell and in Kirkland. Our
programs are state approved Adult Day Health Programs. We serve adults
experiencing physical, mental or social problems associated with arthritis,
diabetes, stroke, isolation, confusion, developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's
disease and other conditions. Participants join us for five hours per day and
can attend up to five days a week. We provide a safe and enjoyable therapeutic
activity program to aid the frail and disabled, while offering families and
caregivers time away from their responsibilities.
Our programs includes case management, nursing
services provided by RN’s and LPN’s, Rehabilitation services by an Occupational
and Physical therapist, fitness/exercise programs, warm water therapy,
regular social interaction in group and one-on-one situations, daily activities
including crafts, gardening, music, group discussions and speakers, and short
outings. A nutritious lunch and morning and afternoon snacks are provided in a
family-style setting. Based on individualized assessments, our
interdisciplinary staff develops care plans to meet the specific needs of each
participant based on our internally developed software database ADWare. We routinely assess
outcomes based on this information, allowing us to track each participant’s
care and development over time.
Northshore
operates its own transportation department to provide rides to those attending
the programs at either center, to augment the public transportation services
available throughout the county. Our facilities are fully handicap accessible,
including loading and unloading zones reserved for participants.
Both Adult Day Centers are under the direction of Northshore Senior Center.
Northshore Adult Day Center
The Northshore Adult Day Center is located near downtown
Bothell, across the street from the Northshore Senior Center. This 3-story,
20,000-square-foot building provides a full-service day care program for up to
80 participants. Features specific to this location include:
Lake Washington Adult Day Center
Lake
Washington Adult Day Center is conveniently located in downtown Kirkland. Our
secure ground-floor accommodations in the Kirkland Congregational Church
provide a full-service day care program. Our large, bright room has ample space for movement and social
programming, and we operate an on-site kitchen where we produce delicious
snacks and lunches.
Regular
outings are scheduled to our Bothell facility to allow participants to access
to amenities at that site.
